Stockton police shooting a man who was armed with a knife outside an apartment building
An officer-worn body camera shows the moments leading up to the shooting of a man by Stockton police officers last month.
On Feb. 4, officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving a man armed with a knife on East Bianchi Road.
When officers arrived, they spotted the man who was refusing to drop the knife. He was later identified as 32-year-old Jaspreet Singh.
In the newly-released video, you can see Singh step in one officer's direction before the other officer opens fire.
Officials say after being shot, Singh still did not drop the knife. Officers deployed a Taser and used a shield to take him into custody. Singh was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Officers later found a woman who was stabbed, and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A sergeant on the scene also injured their knee while taking Singh into custody.
