Parma police release dash cam of a pursuit that ended in a crash
Police provided WTAM with this video of a police chase that took place at about 3:45 p.m. on October 18th.
Parma Police Officers responded to the area of Broadview Rd. and Snow Rd. after receiving information about a stolen vehicle in the area. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Cleveland. Officers located the vehicle traveling northbound on Broadview Rd. in front of 5740 Broadview Rd. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at Broadview Rd. and Brookdale Ave. at which time the offenders fled northbound on Broadview crossing over Brookpark Rd. and driving into Cleveland.
At the intersection of Broadview Rd. and Tampa Ave. the driver of the stolen vehicle drove through a red light as cross traffic was in the intersection with a green light. The fleeing suspect struck both vehicles before continuing into a utility pole. The 57-year-old white male driver from West Virginia and the 43-year-old white female passenger from Cleveland were both arrested inside of the stolen vehicle. Both arrestees were transported to Metro Hospital. The other parties involved in the accident did not appear to suffer any serious injuries.
The entire pursuit lasted approximately 63 seconds. The Cleveland Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is on scene handling the accident. The Parma Police Detective Bureau will be following up with criminal charges. There is no dash cam or body worn camera video available at this time.
