Video shows chaotic Hocking County shootout where deputy, Logan K-9 were injured
Police video shows the chaotic firefight after a domestic situation in Hocking County escalated, leaving a deputy and a police K-9 injured.
The shooting happened on July 30 in a rural wooded area outside of Logan.
Authorities were called to the area after a teenager said her parents had been fighting and her father, who was armed and possibly drunk, had threatened to kill them.
Law enforcement personnel from multiple surrounding agencies joined the over-an-hour-long standoff. Steven Hardbarger was eventually taken into custody.
Officials said more than 20 rounds were fired at them when deputies arrived. A deputy was grazed.
Another round penetrated a Logan police cruiser, in which a K-9 named Rambo was struck in the face.
Prosecutors allege that Hardbarger fired more than 150 rounds toward law enforcement.
