CHP hoist a female hiker who was suffering a medical emergency off the Coastal Trail

Saturday evening, Marin County Fire Dispatch received a report of a hand held GPS emergency activation on the Coastal Trail.

The National Parks Service, CHP H-30 and a Helicopter Rescue Technician from the Marin County Fire all responded to the scene. H-30 lowered the HRT member at the GPS location provided and located a female hiker who was suffering a medical emergency.

H-30 hoisted the hiker and the Marin County HRT member from the scene and transported them to the Five Brooks LZ. The patient was transported to a local hospital my a Marin County Fire Ambulance.
