Dashcam video shows moments trooper ends pursuit with robbery suspect
Pottawatomie County, OH - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released dashcam video of March pursuit in Pottawatomie County.
Troopers assisted the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office with a pursuit on March 23. The driver, who was identified as Dallas Steele, robbed a gas station using a firearm before fleeing westbound on Interstate 40, where deputies located him.
The deputies initiated a traffic stop, but Steele drove off.
Trooper Daniel Metzger with the OHP conducted a tactical vehicle intervention, which brought the pursuit to an end. Steele, who was believed to still be armed, remained inside his vehicle and did not respond to commands from law enforcement, according to the OHP.
After about 10 minutes, Steele was taken into custody. He was booked on multiple charges, including one count of robbery with a weapon and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
